Celtic: Fans slam Kristoffer Ajer for his performance against Hibernian

Despite advancing to the Scottish League Cup Final with a comfortable 5-2 win against Hibernian on Saturday evening, a number of Celtic fans still found time to slate Kristoffer Ajer for his performance at the back.

Goals from Mohamed Elyounoussi, who bagged two, Callum McGregor and a rare brace from Scott Brown were enough to overcome the Edinburgh outfit at Hampden Park (BBC).

The Hoops will await the result of the other semi-final between Rangers and Hearts on Sunday to find out who they will need to overcome to retain their title.

However, despite the resounding victory, many of the Celtic fans were still left rather disappointed in what Ajer had produced on the pitch.

The Norwegian defender came in for plenty of criticism for his display in a back-three, with some appearing to believe that the 21-year-old just could not grasp playing in that formation.

A couple of fans slammed the Scandanavian’s ball distribution, with supporters pointing out that his passing had been rather sloppy, whilst others had called for Lennon to drop the young man in the near future.

Here are just some of their reactions…

Celtic fans, what did you make of Ajer’s performance? Let us know your thoughts by sharing them in the comments below!
