Celtic fans take to Twitter after Brown’s dismissal

Yesterday saw Celtic fans on the edge of their seats for 90 minutes as they fought tooth and nail against a spirited Kilmarnock side at Rugby Park. The game remained 0-0 right up until the last minute of the 90 when Scott Brown stepped up with his second goal in a week to win it and got himself sent off in the aftermath whilst celebrating.

Broony’s dismissal got the Hoops talking about how pathetic the rule is that a player can receive a second yellow card for celebrating with the fans and have been calling for it to be appealed. Unfortunately, though, it’s impossible to appeal a sending off if it comes in the form of two yellow cards and the supporters will be hoping that some kind of rule change can be implemented to prevent this.

Whenever a side who has anything to fight for scores a last minutes away from home there are always going to be scenes in the away end, and with those travelling fans paying good money to watch their side they should be able to celebrate with their players. In this case, Scott Brown hopped the barrier and allowed the Bhoys to swarm him, an act that got him sent off, but one that he probably doesn’t regret.

You can read the Hoops’ thoughts on Brown’s sending off here:

The Hoops cannot get enough of their hero and captain Scott Brown and whilst the red card will be frustrating today on reflection, they won’t regret it one bit.
