Celtic fans don’t often turn on their skipper, but after yesterday, Scott Brown simply couldn’t get away with the level of performance. The 33-year-old has missed a portion of this season with injury, and he looked rusty yesterday when the Rangers midfield ran riot around him during the Hoops 1-0 Old Firm loss.
78′ – Scott Brown booked for a challenge on Ryan Kent.

Losing in an Old Firm clash is something extremely new to a lot of Celtic fans. The last time that Rangers were able to overcome the Bhoys in 90 minutes was way back in March 2012, and to know that they’ve ended what was almost seven straight years without losing to their closest rivals will be something that the Hoops won’t want to hear at the moment, and Scott Brown particularly.
The experienced Scottish midfielder has been a heavy part of Celtic’s recent history, and yesterday’s loss will hurt him a lot more than it will most fans, especially seeing as he directly contributed to the loss with his shocking efforts in the middle of the park. Brendan Rodgers will have to give some serious thought as to whether Brown is still up to the required standards at Parkhead, and who can blame him after yesterday.

Biggest liability today. Rodgers bottled it by keeping him on after half-time

Scott Brown won’t be the most popular man with the Hoops at the moment, and he’ll need one hell of a performance to turn things around after yesterday.
