Celtic fans want to see more of Lewis Morgan after international display

Yesterday evening saw Scotland face England in an U21 edition of the oldest international rivalry in history. England won the game 2-0, but that’s not to say Scotland weren’t up to it. It took the young Three Lions an hour to break the deadlock and there were some impressive youngsters playing for the Scots, with Lewis Morgan of Celtic one who played particularly well.

Morgan is the real deal for Scotland and Celtic. It says a lot that at the age of 22 he’s already managed to pick up two international caps at senior level for Scotland, with his full debut coming back in May when Alex McLeish opted to use him during their 2-0 defeat to Peru. However, it was the U21s he turned out for last night and his display has got a lot of Hoops calling for him to get some game time at Parkhead sooner or later.

In January this year the winger was signed by Celtic from St Mirren, although Brendan Rodgers opted to loan him straight back to the Scottish Championship club where he then helped them achieve promotion to the Scottish Premier League. Now, though, he’s a Celtic player and having been given the #16 shirt it looks like he’s very much a part of the senior squad, even if he’s struggling to get off the bench at the moment.

The Hoops were buzzing with Morgan’s shift for Scotland and will hope he can be given a shot in the Celtic team sooner of later.
