Celtic are thought to be keen on adding attacking threat to their squad this winter and it appears they are close to sealing a deal for one.
The Scotland international winger has struggled to make an impact at West Bromwich Albion, having failed to start a Championship match this season under Darren Moore, and a move to Celtic Park currently hinges on the 21-year-old passing a medical.
Should he pass the necessary tests, he will join up with Brendan Rodgers’ squad in Dubai for their winter training camp ahead of the second half of the season.
Burke is still the most expensive Scottish player in history, following his move to West Brom from Red Bull Leipzig in August 2017.
The pending capture of Burke will be an excellent addition for Celtic and will certainly add to their need for attacking reinforcements.
The 21-year-old showed that he had an exciting amount of talent to offer during his spell in the Bundesliga, however, failed to show that during his time at The Hawthorns.
However, a return to the country he represents at the international level could help to bring the best back out of him and could help Celtic to continue their dominance in domestic football.
