Celtic: Club interested in signing Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo Riquelme

Celtic are in competition with rivals Rangers to sign Rodrigo Riquelme from Atletico Madrid, according to a report from Marca.
The Spanish publication are reporting that, as well as the Scottish giants, a number of clubs from Germany and England are interested in signing him. They also say that the 19-year-old is wary over his chances of breaking through to the Atletico first-team.
If Neil Lennon’s side want to know how good the youngster is, all they need to do is watch his performance against their bitter rivals earlier in the season. Riquelme was on fire against Rangers’ under-19s, notching up three assists as the Spanish outfit won 4-0 in a UEFA Youth League fixture.
The attacker is also incredibly versatile and has played in four different positions this campaign. Given the obvious quality Riquelme possesses, a move for the Spaniard is a no-brainer for the reigning Scottish Champions. The team will lack options on the left-wing come the end of the season, which only further shows that additions are needed in that position.
With a number of clubs in for the youngster, Celtic face fierce competition. However, their development of players like Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard could entice the player into joining the club.
