Celtic: Fans glumly remember costly win over Dundee in 2003

Celtic have posted on Twitter recapping their emphatic victory over Dundee in 2003 and the reaction has probably not been as expected, as a lot of fans reacted negatively for one specific reason.
The game was played a week before their highly-anticipated UEFA Cup final against Portuguese side FC Porto, as per UEFA.com, so fans might have thought that the Hoops would have their minds elsewhere. However, they thrashed the Dee 6-2, with the goals coming from Alan Thompson (two), Henrik Larsson, Shaun Maloney (two) and Johan Mjallby. [via Celtic FC]
Was it these two goals that cost Celtic the league in 2002/03?
Yes

No

However, this result maybe didn’t go down as well as expected because the Celts narrowly lost out on the Premiership title to Old Firm rivals Rangers in the same campaign. Both teams were level on points but Rangers claimed the title due to the fact that had a superior goal difference, but only by one goal, via SPFL. Therefore, if the Celts did not concede twice against Dundee, then they would probably have won the title that year.
Here is what these Celtic fans had to say following the tweet:

I was so deflated at Dundee’s late goal that night. Knew at the time it was going to cost us the league.

Last minute goal that night for Dundee felt like a last minute equaliser, everyone knew it was gonna play a massive part in the last day… then the buzz kicked in for Seville. Roller coaster few days that season!

I remember Dundee scored very late on and I turned to someone in the stadium and said, “ I hope that does not cost us “ it did in the end 😪

Players were devastated at final Whistle. They were outstanding that game. Could’ve scored 10 at least.
