Celtic fans were applauding Peter Lawwell after the chief executive released a statement following recent events.
At the beginning of the lengthy statement, he recognised the side’s responsibilities towards the workers at the club as he went on to thank the staff for their ‘commitment and professionalism’. He then went to on claim that the club’s preference is for the league season to be completed and if it’s not possible, authorities must come up with a ‘fair and reasonable’ solution.
One fan called his words ‘measured’.
Measured and thought out. Compare and contrast to others .

The comments come amid a cloud of uncertainty over when the Scottish league season will recommence following its suspension by the SPFL exactly a week ago. Various figures associated with both Old Firm clubs have voiced their thoughts on whether the Hoops should be crowned champions if the Scottish Premiership does not get back underway. Captain Scott Brown is adamant the Celtic Park giants must be awarded the title if the campaign gets cancelled. Supporters were full of praise for Lawwell after his comments were released as they took to Twitter to react. Here are some tweets:

Very good, professional statement from Peter Lawwell!
In contrast with the disgraceful, self serving utterances from Ibrox & Tynecastle is clear for all to see! 👍🏻🍀🇮🇪
