Celtic: Fans beg the club to sign Mohamed Elyounoussi permanently

Celtic will need to pay at least £10m if they are to secure winger Mohamed Elyounoussi on a permanent deal.

Football Insider reported that the Norwegian’s parent club Southampton have demanded an eight-figure fee from the Scottish champions if they want to turn his loan move into a permanent one, with @celticbible on Twitter relaying the news.

The 25-year-old has made a fine start to his loan spell in Glasgow, with seven goals in 12 appearances since joining Celtic at the end of August.

He hit a purple patch of form during October, scoring five times in his six games for the Hoops last month, and also netted twice in the Betfred Cup semi-final win over Hibernian at the start of November. [via TransferMarkt]

Elyounoussi’s prolific spell in Scotland is in stark contrast to his time at Southampton last season, where he failed to find the net in 19 appearances.

These Celtic fans on Twitter have demanded their club to spend whatever it takes to get the Norway winger signed permanently, with one even telling Peter Lawwell to get his cheque-book out:
