A number of Celtic fans have criticised striker Leigh Griffiths over his social activity on Tuesday following the signing of Polish centre-forward Patryk Klimala.
As noted by the Daily Record, the Scotland attacker tweeted a GIF of him putting his fingers to his ears, as if to insinuate that he was shutting out any outside noise about the arrival of another striker at the club, while he also ‘liked’ a tweet from BBC journalist Stefan Bienkowski suggesting that his days at the club could be numbered. Griffiths later deleted his Twitter profile.
The 29-year-old has had his difficulties on and off the pitch over the last number of months, having taken time out of the game last year as he fought a battle with depression (as per BBC) before struggling to win back his place at Celtic upon returning to action, making just one Premiership start and one Europa League start this season.
Despite Griffiths’ troubles, these Celtic fans on Twitter did not like his social media posts following Klimala’s arrival. Some drew comparisons with the attitude of Scott Sinclair, another who struggled for minutes at Celtic before leaving for Preston earlier this month, while others called him ‘petulant’ and questioned his future at the club…
Compare and contrast Griffiths and Sinclair. SS criticised heavily the last couple of years yet never heard a peep from him. An ultimate professional. Do your talking on the park

When you look and see what sinclair done to get himself in shape to try and get back in to a squad he should never have been left out of, and look at how griffiths has acted, yet still been in with chances its absolutely shocking from top to bottom at the club

Scott Sinclair really was the model pro. Frozen out, looked after himself, kept fit & kept himself away from social media.
He had more reason to feel aggrieved than Griffiths in a lot of ways. Griffiths needs to wrap the wee guy behaviour, there’s only so much fans will accept.

Without undermining any issues that Griffiths has, his mental health can’t be used as a get out of jail card everytime he steps out of line.
Since he was young he’s always had this petulant behaviour in his character and he’s never dealt with it.

Leigh Griffiths needs to grow up. Club's done right by him when he needed it. If he wants to get his career back on track then the ball's in his court now.
