Celtic: Fans divided on Brendan Rodgers’ departure one year on from Parkhead exit

Wednesday marks the one-year anniversary of Brendan Rodgers leaving Celtic to take the vacant managerial post at Leicester, which led to Neil Lennon being promoted to the main Parkhead gig on an interim basis (as per BBC). Ahead of that landmark, Four Tims and a Pod on Twitter (@PodTims) asked followers for their thoughts on the current Foxes boss and the job he did at Celtic.

Rodgers came to Parkhead in summer 2016 and won a domestic treble in his first season with the Hoops, repeating the feat in 2017/18. He also led the club to a third successive Betfred Cup last season before swapping Glasgow for Leicester in February 2019. While his domestic achievements were plentiful, Celtic were hit for seven by both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League during his time in charge.

Lennon completed the ‘treble treble‘ last season and has retained the Betfred Cup this term, as well as having Celtic on course for a ninth successive Premiership title and well placed to reach the last 16 of the Europa League.

Rodgers remains a divisive figure among these Hoops fans on Twitter, some of whom appreciate his contribution to the club while he was there and others still scorned by the abruptness with which he jumped ship for the English Premier League:
