Celtic: Fans go wild for Fraser Forster’s stunning display in League Cup final win over Rangers - Celtic

The dust has settled on Sunday’s League Cup final between Celtic and Rangers, and Hoops fans are still in a state of shock at the simply fabulous performance of Fraser Forster.

If you’ve ever heard the phrase ‘put the team on his back’, Celtic’s goalkeeper showed exactly what it means on Sunday afternoon.

It was a dogged performance from the Bhoys, but they simply could not have escaped Hampden Park with a clean sheet if not for Forster, who had the game of his life.

The 31 year-old, on loan from Southampton, produced a stunning save to deny a long-range effort from Ryan Jack in the first half, before stopping Alfredo Morelos from close range not once but twice.

It was no different after the break either, as the veteran shot-stopper, valued at £7.2m by Transfermarkt, denied Rangers on couple of occasions from balls into the box before saving Morelos’ rather tame penalty.

Fans have been purring over his heroics on Twitter, with some simply stunned by his incredible display while others beg the club to turn his loan into a permanent move.
