Celtic: Fans hoping that Hoops can complete deal for Ismaila Soro after positive update

Celtic’s attempts to bring in Ismaila Soro from Israeli club Bnei Yehuda seem to have taken a significant step closer to fruition, with Football Insider reporting that the Ivorian midfielder is set to have a medical at Parkhead in the coming days.

According to Football Insider, the 21-year-old’s club have accepted a transfer offer from the Hoops, with the two clubs now in advanced talks to finalise the deal. The news was subsequently shared by Celtic-focused Twitter channel @celticbible to its followers.

Soro featured for Bnei Yehuda on Wednesday in their 1-0 victory over Hapoel Afula in the Israeli Cup, helping his current side to reach the last eight of the tournament in what The Scottish Sun claimed to be his last game for them before his proposed move to Celtic, and his 24th in all competitions this season.

The Ivorian now seems close to becoming the Hoops’ second signing this month after the arrival of Polish striker Patryk Klimala and these Celtic fans on Twitter were pleased to hear the positive update on Soro, with one fan hoping that he will emulate ex-Hoops midfielder Victor Wanyama:
