Celtic: Fans lap up James Forrest’s comments on prospective new deal

Celtic winger James Forrest looks set to commit his future to the club with reports of an impending new deal for the 28-year-old.
Should Celtic re-sign Victor Wanyama?
Yes

No

The Daily Record reported that the Scotland international is in advanced talks to extend his contract with the club beyond the current deal which takes him up to 2022.
Forrest told the Daily Record that the finalisation of his new contract is “near enough done”, adding: “I would like to get it done soon and just focus on playing”. There were further quotes from the winger shared by @ClydeSSB on Twitter which highlighted his desire to remain at Celtic.
James Forrest says he’s close to signing a new Celtic deal:
“I’ve always stated that I want to be here at Celtic and the club have been the same. Talks have been really positive and it’s near the end so we just sign and then get back to playing games, like I want to do”.

The 28-year-old has been a highly effective presence in Neil Lennon’s line-up this season, scoring one goal and setting up two more in the 4-0 win at Aberdeen on Sunday to take him to nine goals and 11 assists already in 2019/20. [via TransferMarkt]
Having made his debut against Motherwell in May 2010, Forrest has gone on to play 369 times for Celtic in a one-club career, and these Hoops fans on Twitter expressed their huge admiration for the long-serving winger:
He’s a great role model for any kid looking to get into football. He works hard. Plays anywhere for the club, never in trouble on or off the pitch, keeps his life private. All the managers he’s played under have had nothing but praise for him. He deserves everything he’s got.
