Lots of Celtic fans have been reacting to an interview with Jeremie Frimpong, as it’s becoming pretty clear who the new fan favourite is at Parkhead.
Who would have thought the way to endear yourselves to the fans of a new club was to get sent off in a cup final?
That’s exactly what Frimpong did when the Hoops beat Rangers last weekend, receiving a red card for his foul that led to Alfredo Morelos’ missed penalty.
His post-match reaction went viral and delighted supporters, and now they are piling even more praise on him as the club shared an interview after Sunday’s win.
The 19 year-old scored his first Parkhead goal in the 2-0 win over Hibs, his second strike of the season, and he now has two goals and two assists this campaign.
“I’ve been practicing my finishing in training and practice makes perfect. Playing further up is new to me but the manager told me to go and do that job and I did,” he told Celtic’s official site.
“I can play both full-back and winger. The fans are amazing and to score in front of them is the best feeling.”
Having seen the teenage talent in action further up the pitch in Sunday’s win, lots of fans are praising his latest comments, with one even saying James Forrest needs to look over his shoulder.
