Celtic: Fans loved Ryan Christie and Jeremie Frimpong’s goal celebration against Hearts - Celtic

Celtic duo Ryan Christie and Jeremie Frimpong elicited plenty of reaction from a number of Hoops supporters over one moment in their team’s midweek win at Tynecastle.

Is Frimpong your favourite current Celtic player?

Not quite...

Yes!

Yes!

The former opened the scoring for Celtic after 28 minutes in the 2-0 victory over Hearts on Wednesday night, latching onto a backheel from Odsonne Edouard to drive the ball low past Joel Pereira. [via BBC]

As he ran to celebrate his 17th goal of the season, he was joined by Frimpong and the two then engaged in a choreographed handshake routine, as per a clip shared by @CelticGoal on Twitter.

Speaking to BT Sport after the match [via Daily Record], Christie was adamant that the elaborate celebration was the brainchild of the teenage right-back, saying: “That was Jezza’s idea, I’m putting the blame on him! I’m sure I’ll get a bit of stick for that in the week to come.”

Olivier Ntcham doubled Celtic’s lead shortly before half-time and they ran out comfortable winners to open a five-point gap at the top of the Premiership, albeit with Rangers having a game in hand. [via BBC]

These Hoops fans on Twitter greatly enjoyed the celebration between Christie and Frimpong following the first goal of the night:
