A lot of Celtic fans responded to a post on Twitter by Celtic1967.com which wished Ismaila Soro a happy birthday yesterday.
The defensive midfielder turned 22 and is a recent signing of the club as he made the £2.07m move to Scotland from Israeli outfit Bnei Yehuda in January, as per Transfermarkt.
The Ivorian has yet to feature for the side since signing, and with football being postponed for the foreseeable future, it is unknown when he will actually make his Celtic debut.
Could Soro replace Brown in the starting 11?
Some fans have been quick to point out the fact he has not played yet, with many joking over him as they tweeted “Who?”. However, he is still quite young and should still have ample time to launch his career for the Hoops.
Club legend Scott Brown is currently the main defensive midfielder in the starting XI but, at 34, his career is approaching its twilight, so Soro might have the daunting task of being the captain’s replacement on the pitch.
Here is what some Celtic fans had to say following the birthday tweet for Soro:
I swear he didn’t actually sign for us I think he just won the paradise windfall that night he was out on the pitch🤣🤣
