Celtic: Fans mock Tom Rogic’s injury record upon return to training

Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic is back in training with the Hoops’ first-team squad after missing all of pre-season and the early weeks of the campaign through injury.

The @CelticBible Twitter channel posted an image yesterday of the 26-year-old Australia international at the team’s training session.

According to photos from the SNS group via Video Celts, Rogic went for a scan on a hand injury midway through last season, which would uncover a knee problem that required surgery and curtailed his involvement for the second half of the campaign.

The same source added that a summer without international duty had led to hopes of the midfielder being back for the start of the 2019/20 season, but his recovery has taken a little longer.

The 26-year-old, whose wedding takes place in Australia next month, has had numerous injury problems since joining Celtic in 2013.

He missed almost half of the 2014/15 campaign after going for groin surgery and was ruled out for another four months in the 2016/17 season with an ankle injury, while also incurring a knee injury that sidelined him for two months the following season. [via TransferMarkt.co.uk]

These Celtic fans on Twitter did not seem overly enthused about his return to training, citing his unfortunate injury record:
