Bobby Madden has been named as the referee for Celtic’s trip across Glasgow this weekend.
Clyde 1 Superscoreboard (@ClydeSSB) today tweeted confirmation of the 40-year-old’s appointment as the man in the middle for the fixture.
Bobby Madden will take charge of this Sunday’s Old Firm match between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox.

Two Rangers players received red cards on the day, the first being given to Alfredo Morelos for elbowing Scott Brown off the ball before Andy Halliday was shown red for confronting the Celtic captain as he celebrated in front of Rangers supporters immediately after the final whistle. Aside from last season’s 2-1 win for Celtic, he was also the man in the middle for a goalless draw in 2017/18 and a 1-1 draw the previous season, as well as the 2018 Scottish Cup semi-final that the Hoops won 4-0. [via TransferMarkt.co.uk]
Despite Celtic’s favourable results in derbies with Madden in charge, these Hoops fans on Twitter didn’t seem pleased with his appointment for Sunday’s fixture:

In England they have rules to stop this kind of nonsense happening.
