A lot of Celtic fans are discussing Paolo Maldini after an article was posted by the club talking about the fantastic defender’s battles against the Scottish side.
The Italian centre-back is widely regarded as one of the best to play the sport, and played 901 times for Serie A giants AC Milan, whilst never leaving the club during his whole career, per Transfermarkt.
Celtic fans, is Maldini the best centre-back to have played against the club?
He even managed to chip in with 33 goals and 34 assists, as well as winning three Champions League titles, seven league titles and 16 other trophies in various competitions.
The defender made the visit to Celtic Park during Europe’s biggest competition, and played there once in a drawn group stage game and also in the last 16 in the same season, when he ended up being on the losing side thanks to a last minute winner from Hoops player Scott McDonald, via Celtic FC.
The defender clearly appreciated the Scottish club, as he said, via Celtic FC: “Every professional footballer should seek to play at least one game at Celtic Park, I have never felt anything like it.”
