Celtic fans have been professing their love for the club after their actions from this morning.
Following recent events, which has seen football get cancelled and athletes and coaches go into self-isolation, the Glasgow outfit, as well as Liverpool and various radio stations across Europe, played the anthem ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ (via Daily Record). The song comes from a 1945 Broadway musical named Carousel and has been adopted by the Merseysiders and Scottish giants (via The Guardian).
One fan labelled the occurrence an ‘amazing gesture’.

The idea came from Dutch radio host Sander Hoogendoorn of 3FM, who wanted a song that sent a message to those across the continent that have been struggling during the pandemic. It comes after the World Health Organisation declared that Europe is the ‘epicentre’ of the recent events (via ITV). Supporters were showing their affections for the team as they took to Twitter to react to a video of the famous track. Here is a selection of tweets:
