Celtic fans were professing their love for Henrik Larsson on the anniversary of his famous strike which matched a long-standing record.

It was on this day back in 2004 when the former Hoops forward scored his 167th league goal, matching the post-war record set by Bobby Lennox. It was just one of a number of strikes in a staggering career for the former Sweden international during his time with the Glasgow outfit. All in all, Larsson scored an eye-opening 242 goals in just 313 games across all competitions (via The Celtic Wiki).

One fan labelled him a ‘king’.

His time at the club was filled with trophies as the 48-year-old lifted eight major trophies during just seven years at Celtic Park. Larsson’s most fruitful goalscoring season proved to be the 2000/2001 treble-winning campaign, where he scored 53 goals in just 50 games as the side swept up all three domestic honours.
