Celtic are clearly planning for the future as the club have announced that academy player Brody Paterson has signed a new three-year contract extension. A lot of the Hoops fan base are reacting to the news and hoping it means that there will be more contract news in the near future.
The 19 year-old Scotsman is an attacking player, who normally is selected on the wing and favours the left side, per Transfermarkt. Even though this is great news for the player, the club and fans, many Celts are asking and even hoping that this means Odsonne Edouard will sign a new contract imminently.
It is easy to see why clubs are keeping tabs on the player and why fans are desperate for him to extend his stay, as he is only 22-years-old and has already managed 60 goals in 126 appearances for the Bhoys, via Transfermarkt.
His contract doesn’t expire until 2022, but a new contract would signal both the player’s intent to stay and the club’s intent to hold on to star players, after losing attackers like Moussa Dembele in the past.
