Callum McGregor’s recent comments about his Celtic team-mate Patryk Klimala have elicited plenty of reaction from some of the club’s supporters.
As per Daily Record, and as shared by @celticbible on Twitter, the Scottish midfielder said that the 21-year-old striker has returned from lockdown “looking in great condition” and praised the physical work that the Pole appears to have put in over recent weeks.
Klimala joined the Hoops back in January for a reported £3.5m (as per The Scottish Sun) but, even prior to the shutdown of Scottish football in March, he had little opportunity to make an impression under Neil Lennon. The Polish striker has made just four appearances so far for Celtic, three of which were as a substitute, and he has so far managed the grand total of 101 minutes of action for the Premiership champions (as per TransferMarkt).
However, with the Hoops’ 2019/20 top scorer Odsonne Edouard recently being linked with a move to Arsenal, the Parkhead club may yet find their resolve in trying to keep the Frenchman being tested by other clubs. If he were to leave, that could present Klimala with the chance to step into the breach.
Do you think Patryk Klimala will get regular game-time at Celtic next season?
These Celtic fans on Twitter gave their replies to McGregor’s comments on the 21-year-old, who one supporter called “the heir to Edouard’s throne”:
Ahhhhh the heir to Edouard’s throne https://t.co/CPdqnM2fhr

He definitely looks bulked up now compared to when he first arrived in January. Let's hope he can make a significant enough contribution next season as we go for 10IAR https://t.co/xY9VYGGade

Course he’ll stay. He was in the door two mins before the world shut down. Was never gonna dislodge Eddy or Griff at that point in the season.
Hopefully gets some proper game time and shows what he can do. 🍀
