Celtic: Fans react in support of Leigh Griffiths

Celtic’s Leigh Griffiths has responded to any suggestion regarding his future by posting a video of him training at the club’s Lennoxtown complex according to The Daily Record.

His manager, Neil Lennon, has also had to clarify the striker’s situation in recent days with him being linked with a loan move away from Celtic by saying in The Evening Times:

“Leigh won’t go on loan in January. He’s too good a player. He just needs more time to get up to speed.

“Leigh isn’t fit just now. He’s had a thigh strain and is starting back training. He had a virus that kept him out of the squad for Hibs and isn’t fit enough at the minute to figure.

“That’s where we are. He needs to do a bit more cardio work, so he’s not in the squad at the minute because he’s working back from that injury”.

So, pretty straight forward it seems. Griffiths was fit, got injured and is now completing his rehabilitation. In fact, when he returned at the start of the season he looked sharp with 3 goals and 1 assist at a rate of a goal every 104 minutes. Considering the fact title rivals Rangers have so far outscored the champions, having such a prolific forward back could be key as the season drags on.

The former Hibernian ace has obviously had an unsettled time of late and will be hoping to focus on football sooner rather than later, these Celtic fans took to Twitter in reaction.
