Many Celtic fans are reacting to footage posted on Twitter by a fan page of former player Andreas Thom.
The midfielder played for the club from 1995-1998 after moving from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, and made 101 appearances for the side, scoring 27 goals whilst also winning the league in the 1997/98 campaign, via Celtic Lisboa.
He also played over 80 times for East Germany in the 1980’s and then played 10 times for the unified German team in the 1990’s, via Soccerbase.
He clearly had a great career, and left a lot of fond memories in Scotland, with many of the Celtic faithful flooding to the tweet showing his highlights to praise the German.
Thom is now coach at Hertha Berlin for the U17 team, and will be able to pass on a great level of experience to the young academy prospects, per Transfermarkt. He even managed to help the side win the U17 Bundesliga title.
Loads of Celtic fans were left raving about him after seeing the tweet, with one even describing him as “immense.”
