Loads of Celtic fans have been fondly remembering Patrick Roberts’ time at Parkhead after footage of his best moments in a Hoops shirt were posted by @BrandonM67__.
The 23-year-old spent two-and-a-half years on loan with the Glasgow giants from Manchester City between 2016-18. In that time, he made 78 appearances in all competitions for them, scoring 18 goals and providing 26 assists which is a very decent tally for a winger (Transfermarkt). He also helped Celtic win seven trophies, including three Scottish Premiership titles.
Following his spell in Scotland, he was sent to La Liga outfit Girona on loan to continue his development in the 2018/19 season. Then, in the current campaign, he has made temporary switches to both Norwich City and Middlesbrough.
However, it would be fair to say that all three spells haven’t been anywhere near as successful as his time with the Bhoys, indeed he has failed to score a single goal at any of those clubs (Transfermarkt).
It seems that he is still held in high regard at Celtic, with many fans reacting to the video of his highlights at the club and suggesting they would like to see him return. Here is what some had to say…
made his parent club look silly
