Celtic fans breathed a sigh of relief after it was reported that their Europa League opponents, Lazio, will only face a partial stadium closure as punishment for racist chanting and will still be able to attend the fixture as reported by the BBC Sport website.
Only a day ago, Celtic fans were facing an anxious wait as reported by The Daily Record as the decision was delayed, meaning the Bhoys supporters who were expected to travel were left in limbo.
Lazio were hoping for a lenient response from UEFA to fans making racist salutes after they had allocated such a large proportion of tickets to away fans (via The Scotsman) and it appears to have paid off. Four sections of the ground, a full closure suspended for one year and a fine of around £18,000 was the punishment.
As a result, Celtic fans took to Twitter to express their relief at it finally being confirmed that they will be able to attend the match and not just have a city break in Rome to look forward to.
Here’s a closer look at some of it.
