Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard was named as Scottish Premiership Player of the Month for August, as confirmed by SPFL.co.uk.

The Hoops proudly noted that recognition for the 21-year-old by posting the news on their official Twitter channel @CelticFC.

Having not played in the 2-1 win over Hearts, he scored in both of his league appearances last month, with one goal each in emphatic wins over St. Johnstone and Motherwell, in addition to one in the Old Firm on September 1st. [via TransferMarkt.co.uk]

Despite his impressive goals record, he is still just the Hoops’ third highest scorer so far this term, with James Forrest on seven goals and Ryan Christie on eight. [via TransferMarkt.co.uk]

Edouard’s Premiership tally of three is one behind leading scorers Christie and Liam Donnelly, with Rangers duo Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe among eight players tied on three goals each. [via TransferMarkt.co.uk]

These Celtic fans on Twitter reacted humorously to the 21-year-old’s individual award for his August performances:
