Celtic: Fans remember Jimmy Johnstone

A number of Celtic fans were left in awe on Twitter after the club shared a post celebrating that Jimmy Johnstone had made his debut on the 27th March 1963.

A winger by trade, affectionately known by many as ‘Jinky’, the attacker managed to go on and make 515 appearances for the Bhoys and hit the back of the net an impressive 130 times during a playing career that lasted 13 seasons at Parkhead.
Indeed, according to The Celtic Wiki, Johnstone’s career in Glasgow appeared to take off when Jock Stein arrived and immediately became an important member of the side moving forward.
Thus, it is hardly a surprise that a large number of the club’s faithful were quick to leave their memories of the winger, with all of them seeming to shine ‘Jinky’ in a hugely positive light.
Some mentioned that they felt it was the start of something special for the club, whilst one even claimed that Johnstone had the ‘heart of a lion’.
Here are just some of their thoughts regarding the legendary club figure…
The start of something very special indeed.
