Celtic: Fans reminisce over historic league victory

Thursday (21st May) was a day in which a lot has happened throughout Celtic’s history, and a lot of the fan base are reminiscing after the club posted about what happened on that very day back in 1979.
It was a great day as the Hoops managed to win the league, but they did it in great fashion as they won the final match of the season 4-2 with ten men, and to make it even sweeter for the side, it was against Old Firm rivals Rangers, via Celtic FC.
The game has been dubbed ‘Ten men won the league’ by supporters and at the time of the sending off early in the second half, they were down by one goal, per thecelticwiki. It was a tense day as the title was still up for grabs so it was truly a remarkable and dramatic way to win the trophy.
Clearly fans feel the same as they flooding to the post to talk about the match:

My favourite ever Celtic memory. Was right in line in the Celtic end when Murdo’s rocket exploded in McCloy’s top left hand corner. Absolute scenes!! ⚽⚽⚽⚽💚🍀🏆

Being in the celtic end as a 10 year old that night, it wasn’t for a few years yet that I fully grasped what it really meant. 💚🍀🇮🇪 https://t.co/Oeg9GrcjpB

There was a bus and rail strike that night, but, I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. If my memory is correct, the hoops HAD to win that night. The tension and excitement was unreal. 10 men won the league! 🍀
