Celtic: Fans share their opinions on Aiden McGeady

A number of Celtic fans used Saturday as the ideal time to share their memories on former player Aiden McGeady as the Irishman celebrated his 34th birthday.
The winger is currently plying his trade in England with Charlton Atheltic after being allowed to leave Sunderland on a temporary deal in the January transfer window (BBC).
Having started his career at Celtic Park, the attacker had spent six years in the first-team before moving onto Russia and teaming up with Spartak Moscow in 2010.
McGeady played a rather influential and telling role for the Bhoys in the time he spent with the senior side, having made 197 appearances across all competitions, bagging himself 32 goals and 48 assists in the process (per TransferMarkt).
Whilst some fans praised the former Republic of Ireland international’s ability, some had admitted they were disappointed with what they had witnessed from the now-34-year-old and had felt he did not reach his full potential, although the views were generally favourable.
Here are just some of the opinions they shared on Twitter…

What a player. Right from that debut at Tynecastle. Could have had a good few other clips in that video but, Celtic.

Aiden played the best football of career at Celtic. He should have went on to achieve so much more than he did imo.
