Celtic: Fans shrug off news of latest UEFA sanction - Celtic

Celtic have once again fallen foul of UEFA, with European football’s governing body yesterday handing down yet another financial punishment to the Parkhead club.

Yes!

Yes!

As reported by The Scottish Sun, the Hoops have been fined €16,000 (£13,000) after some of their supporters set off fireworks at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome during last month’s 2-1 win away to Lazio in the Europa League.

According to The Scottish Sun, this is the 20th time in the last 12 years that Celtic have been administered with a fine by UEFA over the misconduct of some supporters and the third financial penalty handed down to them since the start of the season.

The Hoops were also fined £11,000 over the lighting of flares and throwing of objects during the Europa League play-off win away to AIK in August (as per The Scottish Sun), as well as being given a £13,000 fine over the use of offensive banners and chanting during the home win against Lazio in October (via The Scottish Sun).

These Celtic fans on Twitter seemed unperturbed by the latest fine from UEFA, with one joking that it was “another treble” for the Hoops after their annexing of all three major Scottish competitions in each of the past three seasons:
