Celtic: Fans tear into Lewis Morgan after defeat to CFR Cluj - Celtic

Celtic attacker Lewis Morgan ended up being a lightning rod for criticism from a number of Hoops fans following his display in last night’s defeat to CFR Cluj.

The 23-year-old, who was shifted to a right-sided attacking midfield role after playing the last four matches at centre-forward, struggled to have much of an influence on proceedings before he was withdrawn for Vakoun Issouf Bayo midway through the second half.

Morgan did not have any shots during his 67 minutes on the pitch and made the fewest passes of any Celtic starter with just 15. Half-time substitute Kristoffer Ajer had more than three times as many (47). [via WhoScored]

Also, he was dispossessed three times (the joint-most of any Hoops player) and was guilty of bad ball control on six occasions. [via WhoScored]

The Daily Record‘s Gordon Parks gave him a lowly five in his player ratings amid a rather unflattering assessment of his display, saying that he was “wasteful, didn’t get at his man and offered little threat as outball on the right”.

These Celtic fans on Twitter were also quite critical of Morgan’s performance in last night’s defeat:

Did you think Morgan was Celtic’s worst player last night? Is he good enough for Neil Lennon’s side? Comment below with your views!
