Former Celtic striker Charlie Nicholas has criticised Odsonne Edouard for an apparent lack of emotion in celebrating his goals.
Writing for The Daily Express [via HITC], Nicholas accused the 21-year-old forward of “looking too casual and uninterested” at times and said that he was irritated by “his lack of celebration when he scores”.
Edouard seemed to have a pop at Nicholas in response to those comments, with the Celtic forward taking to his Twitter account @Oedouard22 to insist that he should be allowed to celebrate his goals in whatever manner he pleases.
I celebrate my goals how I want..if you don’t like it. That’s not my problem

Opportunities for the 21-year-old to acknowledge his goals have been plentiful, with his brace against Kilmarnock on Sunday taking him to five goals for the season in the Premiership this season, having plundered 14 league goals last term for the Hoops.
Nicholas, who feels that Edouard is the best striker in the Scottish Premiership but added that Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos is closing the gap (as per The Daily Express, via HITC), was pilloried by these Celtic fans on Twitter over his comments about Edouard’s goal celebrations:
Charlie has never set foot in Paradise since he left. Arsenal seems to b his only team. He looks like an 80s reject. An old man pretending that the 80s still exist. Very sad to see.

You can’t take Charles seriously, he’s nearing 60 and wears a diamond earring.

Charlie Nicholas is simply jealous that you're the kind of player for Celtic that he never was. As in, already a hero. As in, a fantastic athlete and a very clever footballer – a cold as ice finisher in the big moments. Nicholas is nothing more than a bad memory for Celtic.

Charlie Nicholas is not fit to lace your boots Odsonne

This is the man who spouted this rubbish. File under irrelevant. You do as you please Eddie pic.twitter.com/WKuIwiwBr4

Well said Odsonne. That particular critic played for us over 30 years ago, and has taken money from the media to say negative things about the club ever since.
