Leigh Griffiths’ two goals for Celtic’s reserve team in their 6-o win over Stenhousemuir last night generated plenty of excitement among some Hoops fans on Twitter.
Will Leigh Griffiths play for Celtic again?
The 29-year-old struck twice in the first 15 minutes in the game at Lennoxtown Training Centre and was still outdone by Liam Burt, who netted a hat-trick, with a summary of the game posted by @CelticFC on Twitter afterwards.
Griffiths, who took time out of football in the last year due to personal issues (as per BBC), has been sidelined with a hamstring injury over the last couple of months and has not played for Neil Lennon’s first team since the 3-1 victory over Hearts in late August.
He started the campaign in good form, scoring in the Hoops’ first two Premiership games as well as the 5-0 Champions League qualifying win over Nomme Kalju (as per TransferMarkt), and has a very impressive track record during his Celtic career, with 107 goals in 211 first-team appearances since joining in January 2014.
These Celtic fans on Twitter hope to see Griffiths back among the first team quite soon:
