Celtic: Fans wouldn’t be keen on having Aiden McGeady back

Aiden McGeady made nearly 200 appearances for Celtic during the 2000s and was voted the PFA Scotland Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year in 2008.
Would you take Aiden McGeady back at Celtic?
Definitely

No chance

However, the 33-year-old winger’s career has since fallen on harder times, with the Republic of Ireland international being told last week that he is free to leave current club Sunderland in January (as per BBC).
The issue of a potential return to Parkhead for McGeady was raised by Celtic fan @tirnaog09 on Twitter, who voiced opposition to the idea by pointing out that the Hoops already have several younger wide players from which to choose.
Aiden McGeady said to be available but much as he's a seasoned pro now, Celtic are well covered in the wide areas. He's at the veteran stage now and Celtic's model is to buy young players & develop them so unlikely to happen. pic.twitter.com/weQq6weP5w

The Scottish Sun claimed that Sunderland’s desire to offload the ex-Celtic player arose from a training ground incident, while he reportedly fell out with former Hoops boss Gordon Strachan during his time at Parkhead and was suspended by the club for a couple of weeks back in 2008, as per BBC.
These Celtic fans on Twitter agreed with @tirnaog09’s views on McGeady and expressed their opposition to any potential return to the club for McGeady:
Definitely not

Plus he has the heart the size of a pea.

Waster! What a talent he had – he could’ve made it to the very top – but his attitude meant he didn’t want to learn and grow as a player, dreadful final ball/pass and never learned to be a team player.. good luck to him but wouldn’t have him back

Hard pass for me, even if he was on very low wages I still can’t see anything he could add to the team!

Don’t give old players lucrative contracts since there is no residual value. At best it’s a pay-as-you-play. However , NFL had an issue with him (at Pars?) so just don’t see it as a-goer.

Think he’d even struggle to get the likes of Aberdeen or Hibs / Hearts to take a punt on him.
