This is getting too easy, right? Trophy after trophy is making its way to Celtic Park and although that is still very pleasing for fans, their main aspiration is surely to go further in Europe.
After making the gap even bigger at the top of the table, the gulf in class between Celtic and every other side is obvious, hence the desire to go further in Europe.
Drawing Valencia in the round of 32 was a hard task and one that proved too far for the Hoops but may not next season, if they conduct the right level of business over the summer. Celtic are obviously a huge club and they need to adopt that mentality when trying to sign players. One man already on their books is PSG youngster Timothy Weah and keeping him past the season would kick proceedings off very nicely indeed.
Weah, (who is valued at £4.5 million on Transfermarkt) has made a very positive start to his career at Celtic Park and it’s easy to see why he is so highly rated. So, you Bhoys reading this must be gutted about his imminent return to the French capital. But why does that have to be such a foregone conclusion?
With three strikes to his name thus far, Celtic should look at doing everything they can to try and extend his loan agreement, so the progress can continue. Clearly, he’s not going to get in ahead of either Kylian Mbappe or Neymar in the French capital, so why not try your luck?
Simply put, it would benefit all involved. Celtic keep one of their more influential players, Timothy Weah grows as a player and his stock rises which can only be good news for PSG.
If the 19-year-old managed a full season in the Scottish Premiership, the goal-scoring return could be fantastic and hence why an extension to his loan deal must be completed.
Do you agree that Timothy Weah deserves to stay at Celtic past this season… Let us know!
