Earlier this week, the Daily Mail reported that Celtic had identified £4m-rated Polish striker Patryk Klimala as a January transfer target.

Polish media outlet TVP Sport have subsequently reported [via Daily Record] that the 21-year-old is willing to leave his current club Jagiellonia Bialystok if he feels the right opportunity arises elsewhere.
However, he added that he would only leave for another club if he was likely to be the first-choice striker at his new destination and would not be content with a backup role, saying: “I don’t want to be the fourth choice, only the first. I want to develop, so I will also choose a league that will give me that.” [TVP Sport, via Daily Record]
Klimala’s career at Jagiellonia Bialystok had initially been a slow burner, with just four goals in 32 appearances prior to the start of this season.
However, he has since hit seven in 18 games for the current campaign, including five in as many matches during a purple patch in the autumn, and he has also chipped in with three assists. [via TransferMarkt]

His seven goals in 2019/20 have been scored in 1,093 minutes of game-time, an average of one goal every 156.14 minutes.
If he were to join Celtic, he would join Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths and Vakoun Issouf Bayo among Neil Lennon’s centre-forward options.
Edouard is the go-to man up top, with 16 goals in 2,512 minutes this season (one every 157 minutes), with Griffiths scoring three goals in 524 minutes of action (one every 174.67 minutes) and Bayo netting once in the 330 minutes that he has played in the current campaign.
Lennon almost always starts with just one centre-forward in his line-up and, with Edouard their second-highest scorer this season, the Frenchman’s place in the team looks assured whenever he is available.
Klimala’s potent nature in front of goal is highlighted by his superior goals-per-minute ratio in comparison to Edouard, who is a reported £30m target for Leicester (as per Daily Record).
However, with Lennon generally starting just one centre-forward and Edouard so prolific for the club this season, the 21-year-old Polish striker could have to be initially content with the role of impact substitute if he were to join Celtic.
If, as Klimala has stated, he is not willing to play a supporting role to the main cast, the Hoops could find it difficult to persuade him to make the switch to Parkhead.
Celtic fans, would you be keen on having Klimala at the club given his goals-per-minute ratio or would his demands about being first-choice be a deterrent? Join in the discussion by commenting below!Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
