A club tweet posted on Thursday, highlighting a great day in Celtic’s history, has seen a lot of the fanbase remember how good a campaign the 2016/17 one was.
On May 21st 2017, the Hoops managed to achieve a great historic feat as they did went through the whole season undefeated. This was the first time any team has won the Scottish title without a loss since the 1898/89 season, via BBC Sport.
To become the ‘invincibles’ is also something that has only been achieved by three other teams in Europe who also play 38 game campaigns, Arsenal in 2003/04, Juventus in 2011/12 and Barry Town in the League of Wales, 1997-98.
Was this Celtic's best ever campaign?
It was Brendan Rodgers’ first season at the club, and to turn the Celts into such a dominant side, which won the league by 30 points, was an amazing accomplishment for the Northern Irishman who also won the League Cup and the Scottish Cup in the same season, per Transfermarkt.
It truly was an amazing campaign and one that will go down as one of the best, if not the best, in the history of the club.
Here is what fans had to say following the tweet:
