Celtic: Fans rejoice at outcome of clubs’ vote on SPFL season - Celtic

The news has recently come out giving an update on whether there would be an inquiry into the decisive vote on the Scottish Premiership and a lot of Celtic fans are excited over the news.

The club have released a statement saying they welcome the “decision to reject a lawyer-led inquiry into the processes relating to the resolution approved last month”, via Celtic FC.

With football in Scotland being postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the clubs in the top division voted early in April to abandon the league and give Celtic the Premiership title whilst relegating Hearts, as per The Guardian.

However, various clubs were not happy with how the vote came about and 13 clubs backed an investigation, led by Rangers, whilst 27 were against and two abstained, as per BBC Sport. This would mean that the reported plans to abandon the league would proceed.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out, as Rangers have vowed to take it further, as per BBC Sport, but for now it looks like Celtic will be celebrating their ninth title in a row, as per Transfermarkt, and can now start planning towards the 2020/21 season.
