The Lowdown: Celtic set to re-shuffle personnel ahead of 2021/22

As Celtic gear up for the 2021/22 campaign, a raft of senior exits are expected as they re-shuffle their pack to try and reclaim the Premiership title from rivals Rangers at the first attempt.

Hoops star men Ryan Christie and Kristoffer Ajer have both been heavily linked with moves away to Leicester City and RB Leipzig respectively.

The Verdict: Celtic should give Bayo a second chance in pre-season

Never really afforded much of an opportunity at Parkhead, Bayo has made just 17 appearances for the Hoops, registering two goals and one assist [Transfermarkt].

Despite this, he has proven to be a smash-hit in the French second-tier. Featuring 36 times for Les Violets in 2020/21, he has notched an impressive 17 goal contributions; 13 goals and four assists [Transfermarkt].

Fundamentally, Bayo could represent a different option from fellow Bhoys strikers Leigh Griffiths, Odsonne Edouard and Albian Ajeti due to his aerial potency, and when a new manager comes in the time is surely right to give every player a fresh start.

As Postecoglou plots how he will approach the 2021/22 campaign successfully, he could do a lot worse than to reject advances for the Ivory Coast international and give him a second chance at pre-season training if it is not too late already.

In other news, a Celtic midfielder has ‘agreed personal terms’ for a Parkhead exit.
