A lot of Celtic fans have loved a post from the club showing highlights from the Hoops’ victory over Aberdeen back in 2016 and it has made many miss winger Patrick Roberts.
The game was an enjoyable one as the result meant Celtic sealed a fifth successive league title, via BBC Sport, and celebrations started early as Roberts scored a brace in the first 20 minutes before Mikael Lustig made it 3-0 early on in the second half. Celtic fans may have started to get slightly nervous as two quickfire goals from Niall McGinn and Andrew Considine meant the Hoops had to hold on for the last 2-minutes but they saw the game out and claimed another league title.
Roberts had a great loan spell at the Scottish side, playing 78 games in which he scored 18 goals and provided 26 assists, as per Transfermarkt, but is now struggling since signing on loan at Middlesborough from Manchester City. The Englishman has only featured three times since the January move and was not even making the bench for the last eight games, as per Transfermarkt.
Here is what some Celtic fans had to say following the tweet:
📅 #ONTHISDAY 8 May 2016 we beat our nearest league rivals 3⃣-2⃣.

I can’t watch anything involving Roberts without feeling sad and bitter that we didn’t get him permanently.
