Celtic will be desperate to secure top spot and mount an unassailable lead after beating Rangers in the Old Firm clash.
The Hoops haven’t exactly enjoyed the best of starts to their campaign but they have certainly picked things up in recent matches. Indeed, it’s vital that Brendan Rodgers can rally his troops to build some momentum and push for the treble once again after two heroic seasons prior to this one.
However, Rodgers should start looking at what didn’t work earlier on in the season by weighing up some of his options and assessing the futures of a couple of his players.
With that in mind, here’s a look at TWO men that should never feature for Celtic again…
Jonny Hayes has been one of the worst pieces of transfer business that Celtic have completed in recent years, and he was even linked with a shock move away after joining this summer.
Indeed, the midfielder hasn’t been able to contribute positively and has slipped down the pecking order due to his performances so far this season, so you wouldn’t be surprised if Rodgers makes amends by freezing him out of the side and shipping him out on loan or permanently during the January transfer window.
Scott Allan failed to make the cut for Brendan Rodgers’ Europa League squad as he continues to stagnate behind the scenes at the club.
The 26-year-old hasn’t yet made a competitive appearance for Celtic since the Northern Irishman took over in 2016.
Allan enjoyed loan spells with Dundee and Hibernian last season but did not wind up leaving Parkhead this past summer. But, after failing to be included in the European squad and domestic proceedings, it now looks as if he is being frozen out and will inevitably depart in January.
