Celtic have continued their dominant start to the Scottish Premiership season, recently beating deadly rivals Rangers in one of the most one sided 1-0 victories ever.
Despite talk of Rangers being capable of catching up to Celtic this season, that game truly demonstrated the current gulf in class between the two.
Brendan Rodgers even allowed striker Moussa Dembele to leave the club but the Frenchman wasn’t needed to set aside their rivals. With the transfer fee of Dembele being available to spend, January should be a team where Celtic delve into the transfer market and recruit some new squad talent.
A Premier League player who could be a great addition at Celtic Park is Chelsea’s Lucas Piazon, who is valued at £2.2 million on Transfermarkt.
The Chelsea outcast is one of many players who have constantly been shipped out on-loan to other clubs but this summer the Brazilian managed to stay put at Stamford Bridge. The fact that Maurizio Sarri kept him in the squad shows that Piazon does have an element of quality and that is something Celtic should look at.
His last loan deal saw him join Fulham on-loan and the Brazilian was helpful in allowing the Cottagers to gain promotion, scoring 5 goals and providing 4 assists in 22 Championship appearances. Playing either on the wing or as an attacking midfielder, Piazon was a constant attacking threat in the second division and that demonstrates that the Scottish league could be perfect for the Brazilian.
Having recently lost players such as Stuart Armstrong, Patrick Roberts and Charly Musonda, Piazon could be the ultimate replacement for them all, should his reach his peak potential for the Scottish Champions.
