Celtic currently find themselves in a promising position in the race for the Scottish Premiership title, with a game in hand over bitter rivals Rangers.
The Hoops were starting to build up ahead of steam with the New Year approaching, but they failed to secure a positive result in the Old Firm clash yesterday as they were beaten by Rangers.
And, a couple of the club’s young players have struggled to make inroads in the current campaign, which has put their immediate future under the spotlight. Indeed, it’s vital that young players secure regular minutes at this point in their careers, so a January transfer window exit could be in the offing.
Therefore, Rodgers should ship this talented young DUO out in January…
Conor Hazard has established himself as one of the brightest prospects in Scotland over the past couple of years, but he has failed to make any inroads in the current campaign.
The goalkeeper currently finds himself behind the likes of Craig Gordon and Scott Bain in the pecking order, so a first-team breakthrough looks almost impossible at this stage.
Nevertheless, a January transfer window loan move would provide him with regular minutes and help his development massively, with the opportunity to regain some confidence.
The 22-year-old has shown glimpses of something special in the current campaign but he still hasn’t been able to establish himself as a regular first-team starter just yet.
He has 13 appearances to his name but almost all of these have been from the substitutes’ bench, which has made it difficult for him to build up any momentum.
Rodgers already has Scott Sinclair out on the left-hand side and Callum McGregor can also play out wide, so his opportunities will be rather limited from here on in until the end of the season.
