Departures and arrivals alike are surely inevitable at Celtic Park this summer but fans are simply hoping the right ones are let go and better ones are brought in.
It has been yet another season of success, which has really become the norm around Celtic football club as they bid to secure a treble-treble by the end of the campaign.
In all likelihood, they will and that shows how dominant they are domestically but it’s in Europe where they wish to improve.
Indeed, experienced European players are something the Hoops lack and when they face-up to the big boys, they often get punished. You’ve heard it a million times, granted, but that doesn’t make it any less true.
But as a start this summer, Celtic must consider reigniting their interest in Leicester’s Shinji Okazaki, as he has all the experience the Hoops need in attack. Okazaki, (who is valued at £4.5 million on Transfermarkt) is well out of favour at Leicester and it will come as no surprise (as per the Telegraph) to see him leave the King Power Stadium this season, given his contract expires this summer.
Despite being 33-years-old, Okazaki has a terrific engine that allows him to hassle defenders for the full ninety minutes and although he has 19 goals for Leicester in over 136 outings, work-rate and determination are attributes the Japanese striker has in abundance.
Celtic, nor many teams, have a player quite like Shinji Okazaki and given he is free this summer, Brendan Rodgers could be good for one thing and that’s letting him join Celtic.
Alongside the goalscoring Edouard, Okazaki and he could form a terrific partnership that could bring goals and in-turn excitement to Celtic Park.
