Celtic will be reeling from their Old Firm defeat to Rangers at the weekend, however, things could be about to get worse for them.
Australian outfit Western Melbourne are thought to be keen on the Bhoys skipper and are believed to be preparing to step up their efforts to bring him Down Under.
The A-League side want to make the 33-year-old their marquee signing and could be set to open crunch talks with Brown in the next few days.
The veteran is not believed to be short of options either this summer, with MLS sides Minnesota United and Sporting Kansas City also thought to be keen on the midfielder.
Celtic have offered Brown a deal to extend his 11-year stay with the Hoops, although nothing has yet been agreed.
If Brown were to depart from Celtic, it would be a huge loss for Brendan Rodgers and his side.
Although the 33-year-old has not had his best season so far, which has not been helped with the injuries he has had, he has been key for them during the last decade and has won a number of trophies with the club.
Celtic could have an interesting January on their hands, however, they will be hoping Brown commits his future to the club once again.
