Scott Brown’s current contract at Celtic is set to expire at the end of the season, which has made him an in-demand target.
The 33-year-old has a number of clubs to choose from should he decide to leave Celtic Park, with a move to the MLS a possibility.
However, it appears that he has turned down the chance to play his football in Australia.
It is understood that the newly-formed A-League side have not given up hope of bringing him to The Land Down Under and will meet face-to-face with him in Dubai next week.
Brown is thought to have a one-year extension offer from Celtic on the table as well, however, it is believed he will use January as a chance to think about his future.
Brown has been a stalwart for Celtic during his time with the club and the Bhoys will be keen to tie him down to a new deal.
Their hopes of him committing to a new contract will have been boosted by the fact that he has turned down the deal from Western Melbourne.
However, with the player set to bide his time over the next month, they could be in for an anxious wait about the 33-year-old’s future.
