Steven Gerrard’s Rangers hosted Dundee yesterday as they looked to bounce back from derby defeat against Celtic before the international break and they did so in style. The Gers inflicted a 4-0 win on the Scottish Premier League strugglers at a sold-out Ibrox and the fans were all in awe of the performance of Andy Halliday in midfield.

After the smashing 4-0 win, the fans had their say on who they believed their man of the match was and a number of fans were of the opinion that it was Halliday who deserved to take home the award. There were plenty of candidates for it with Daniel Candeias, Scott Arfield and Ryan Kent all putting in impressive performances, although it was Halliday who impressed the most, stepping in to fill the shoes of Ryan Jack.
The 26-year-old midfielder went on-loan to FK Gabala in Azerbaijan for the first half of last season and a lot of fans would have happily seen him leave the club over the summer. However, with his impressive bossing of the midfield against Dundee it seems that Steven Gerrard can get more out of him than previous managers have done and if he can continue to show his quality like he did yesterday then the fans could be forced to change their opinions on the ex-Middlesbrough man.
